Msts Windows 7 Patch
G'day everyone, I just upgraded from Windows 7 Ultimate to Windows 10 Pro and reverted back to Windows 7 after finding out it was a waste of time installing Windows 10 MSTS will load however, due to Windows 10 not allowing the installation of my graphics driver software it will crash back to decktop MSTS Toots & editors will load with success 'Route Editor, Activity Editor' etc. Route Riter is missing System32 files which Windows 10 deleted them due to being known as driver files Train Sim Modeler, Gmax and Google Sketchup will load however, these programs require the graphics driver software and if not presented it crashes once you begin 3d modelling All other MSTS utility programs will successfully work in Windows 10 Open Rails will not work 'due to no graphics driver software being presented'. My graphics driver installed fine on Windows 10.
I have an ATI gradpics software 'Radeon HD 4670M' chipset, I have it fully updated so it should have worked in Windows 10 but it will not install what so ever I tried installing it severial times before confirming cityrail-rulezYou're talking about a graphics card with architecture dating back to 2008. You can't demand or expect that kind of hardware compatibility, especially with regards to a free product (Windows 10). Having said that, I had one machine that upon upgrading didn't recognise the nVidia drivers I'd downloaded in readiness for the upgrade. It soon sorted itself out (within two hours) using drivers automatically downloaded from Windows Update. Route Riter is missing System32 files which Windows 10 deleted them due to being known as driver files cityrail-rulez If what you're saying is true, then that's a problem with Route Riter, not Windows 10.
Windows 10 is out, and of course the question to ask is, “Can it still run MSTS, and how well?” Windows 10 does run MSTS and in fact it runs it quite well!
System32 is a special location on the filesystem, being reserved for, well, system files. Non-OS software should store files in that location only under exceptional circumstances; in 99.9% of cases, Program Files is sufficient. It sounds as if Windows 10 is finally clamping down on that kind of poor coding in an effort to keep the filesystem clean and prevent dodgy software from causing it to crash. From people I know who have upgraded - Do it if you're currently on Win 8 or 8.1. Wait a while (i.e >6 months) if you're on Win 7, and even consider holding off until you replace your current hardware. Hearing that lots of PCs currently running Win 7 are falling over after attempting to upgrade to Win 10, sometimes at great expense to get fixed. CarnotYou have clearly misread my original post It's nothing to do with my hardware, all my hardware is completely compatible with Windows 10, it's only my driver software that will NOT install correctly and without any current update to support my graphics card in Windows 10 I am forced to revert to Windows 7 The reason why I wanted Windows 10 is to test it's full capcity working MSTS, Trainz, TSM and other MSTS programs and more to help people get MSTS and other MSTS programs to function without error.
But, the stupid graphics software refused to install because of Microsoft's new security features regarding installation of drivers 'Bullcrap' limiteditions ever since Windows 7 was released, if only they just improved Windows XP But all good things come to an end.
